Wesley Ford

My Background

I spent my entire career building high-caliber teams in motorsports, automotive, and robotics.

I was the VP for System and Test Engineering at Argo. I grew a team of over 350 engineers and technicians in Detroit, San Francisco, Pittsburgh, and Munich. We delivered the technology for Ford and Volkswagen's fully driverless vehicles.

I also served as the VP of Hardware Engineering at Argo. I managed over 100 engineers in the US and Germany, designing lidars, cameras, radars, inertial measurement units, and computers.

Waymo Self Driving Car

Previously, I was the Technical Program Manager for Hardware Engineering on Google's Self-Driving Car Project. I coordinated vehicle engineering teams developing electric powertrains, cameras, lidar, radar, and computers.

2013 World Solar Challenge

In college, I studied economics and became the President of the Stanford Solar Car Project, a team that engineers, builds, and races solar-powered vehicles. I led my team to the best race result in Stanford's 35+ year history at the 3000-mile Australian World Solar Challenge.

I excel in building high output organizations, and I have united international teams during three major merger and acquisition events. I deliver tools and resources to help my employees work efficiently, and my teams consistently achieve highly ambitious goals.

I am a leader in building diverse and inclusive work cultures as the founder of Racial and Ethnic Minorities at Argo.

I am excited to bring my experience in product development and manufacturing to lead new groups in SoCal. I have deep expertise with the most prominent vehicle brands in the world and the most capable automotive and engineering suppliers in North America, Europe, and Asia.

l have extensive deal lead experience closing well over $150M in prior transactions. I have the personal assets and banking connections to complete acquisitions efficiently. My deal workflow balances both buyer and seller needs.

Outside work, I am an avid ultra-distance cyclist. I love big challenges like riding 400 miles through the night from Niagara Falls to the Hudson River.

I also serve on the Board of Envisioneers, a non-profit providing learning opportunities in underserved California communities.
